Turmeric Board Gets New Address In Nizamabad

NIZAMABAD: Nizamabad rural MLA camp office at Vinayaknagar has been allotted for the National Turmeric Board. Coordination between Central and state government led to the new address for Turmeric Board.

Transport, roads and buildings department special chief secretary Vikas Raj issued orders in this regard with the 4,052 square feet building in MLA camp office being allotted for a montly rent of Rs 52,676. Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri assured farmers regarding sanction of the turmeric board in 2019 Parliament elections and issued a bond paper to get the support of voters.

After a gap of five years, the Central government sanctioned the National Turmeric Board and allotted it to Telangana state, particularly in Nizamabad. Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu states, where farmers also cultivate turmeric to a large extent, strongly aspired for the Board in their respective states. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared turmeric board for Nizamabad.

National Turmeric Board chairman Palle Ganga Reddy thanked the state government for providing accommodation for the board office. Turmeric board will continue its full operations soon, he said. MP Arvind Dharmapuri strived hard to bring the turmeric board for Telangana, particularly in Nizamabad, he said. The BRS government utterly neglected turmeric farmers in the state, he criticised.

Palle Ganga Reddy said that BRS MLA V.Prashanth Reddy was unable to digest the Board at farmers’ doorstep in Nizamabad. BJP district president K. Dinesh Kumar, BJP municipal former floor leader G. Sravanthi Reddy and others were present.
