With the arrival of monsoon season, Hyderabad District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) J. Venkat has directed health officials to initiate precautionary measures to prevent a rise in seasonal illnesses. At a review meeting held on Thursday (May 29) the DMHO announced that door-to-door surveys will begin across the district to identify early cases of seasonal diseases and raise public awareness.

The DMHO highlighted that every household must be reached by medical teams, ensuring people are well-informed about preventive steps against monsoon-related infections. He also instructed private healthcare facilities to submit daily reports on seasonal disease cases, with senior officials tasked with monitoring accurate and timely data collection.

A key focus of the meeting was maternal health. Dr. Venkat directed the department staff to identify and register pregnant women, carry out essential diagnostic tests, and provide necessary medical advice and medicines. He stressed the need to closely monitor high-risk pregnancies and ensure timely referrals to designated hospitals for facilitating safe and supervised deliveries.
