88,000 km with a Figo Aspire: Timing kit, suspension & battery replaced BHPian Achilles recently shared this with other enthusiasts:Ford Aspire TDCI – Service Update – 88,000 km / 8.5 YearsRecently, I decided to perform some major maintenance on my car to ensure its longevity and optimal performance. Timing Belt Replacement: As per the service manual, the replacement interval is 120,000 km or 6 years. Although the old belt was still in good condition (found only after replacement ), I chose to replace it along with the pulley and tensioner. Total Cost: 13,000 (Labour: 6,000) Front Suspension Repair: The suspension wasn’t performing at its best, so I opted to replace the front dampers. Parts were ordered through Malayalam Ford, Kannur, and the work was completed in a day.Total Cost: 9,000Dampers: 1,900 per unitBearings: 1,200 per unitMounts: 400 per unitLabour: 2,000Battery Replacement: The OEM Ford battery lasted 4.5 years but showed signs of leakage. Replaced with a new OEM battery. Cost: 4,100 Tyre Replacement: My Yokohama Earth 1 tyres (185/65 R14) had been in use for five years, covering 47,000 km. While they still had some remaining tread life, I opted to replace them with the same model (Now its called Earth 1 Max) to ensure a reliable and safe driving experience, especially for my frequent Pune-Kannur trips. Cost: 20,700 (Includes fitting, alignment, balancing, and nitrogen filling) Tyre replacement was done at a reliable shop close to my home. With the new suspension setup and fresh tyres, the car’s ride quality and handling have significantly improved, offering a smoother and more controlled driving experience.
