Nizamabad: Tension prevailed at Pratibha Hospital on Friday after the family members of a deceased patient staged a protest alleging medical negligence.
The patient, Radhika (35) from Padigela village in Velpur mandal, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday with complaints of spinal cord pain. According to her relatives, doctors recommended immediate surgery, which was conducted over several hours. She died the following day under reportedly unclear circumstances.
Shocked and angered by her sudden death, Radhika’s husband, Suresh and other family members gathered outside the hospital, raising slogans against the hospital administration. They accused the doctors of negligence and demanded that a criminal case be filed against the hospital management.
Police personnel were deployed in large numbers to manage the situation and pacify the protesters. Authorities have not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
