Nizamabad Police Holds Awareness Meet on New Laws


Nizamabad: Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya said that everyone should be aware of new laws introduced after July 1, 2024. The laws will benefit people if they are aware, he said. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam are being used to maintain law and order, he pointed out.

An awareness programme on new laws for print and electronic media journalists was conducted here at Srirama Gardens on Wednesday. Speaking at the meeting, the top cop said that the Artificial Intelligence era is precious and people should be careful about their day-to-day lifestyle. Media should be careful while reporting on crimes related to the minor children, he said.

The names and family details of minors should not be mentioned in the news items, he said. Explanation of police officers is required in crime reporting, he said. Punishment is mandatory if scribes commit mistake either knowingly or unknowingly, he said. Prior to posting photos and videos of anyone on social media, permission is required, he said.

Crosscheck the information before publishing or telecasting it, Sai Chaitanya said. Advanced technology should be used for a positive approach, he said.
