Infant kidnapped in Kazipet, rescued in Secunderabad
Hyderabad: A one-month-old baby girl abducted from her mother at Kazipet railway station two days ago was rescued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials at Secunderabad railway station on Friday.
On Tuesday, the infant’s mother Gouri, who is speech-impaired, had left her in the care of an unidentified female toilet cleaner at Kazipet railway station while she went to fetch milk. When she returned, both were missing.
Based on her complaint, the Kazipet railway police booked a case and examined the CCTV footage at various places and traced the woman and the infant to Secunderabad railway station.
They alerted the Secunderabad railway police, who detained the woman and rescued the infant. They were further handed over to the Kazipet railway police.

Passenger caught with 10 kg marijuana in RGIA
Hyderabad: Customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad seized 10 kgs of marijuana from a passenger who arrived from Bangkok on a Thai Airlines flight on Friday.
According to Customs officials, following specific inputs, the passenger was caught smuggling the psychotropic substance, concealed in the luggage.
The passenger along with the seized material was handed over to the RGIA police for further investigation.

Two children trapped in room, rescued in Chandrayangutta
Hyderabad: Two children who were trapped inside a room after its door accidentally got locked were rescued by Fire Department staff at Chandrayangutta on Friday early morning.
The incident occurred in a house in a residential colony, where Abdul Rahman (7) and Mohd Azam (3), who were reportedly playing, got trapped inside the room.
Their father Mohd Javed tried his best to forcibly open the door, but his efforts went in vain. The family then alerted the local police and the Chandrayangutta Fire Station.
The firefighting personnel consisting of leading fireman Mohd Shabbir, firemen Narasimha, Devender Sagar and operator Mastaan reached the spot immediately and took up rescue operation.
After about an hour, they gained entry into the room where the children were trapped and rescued them and handed them over to their parents.

One killed as tractor rams auto in Adilabad
Adilabad: An auto-rickshaw driver was killed when a tractor rammed his three-wheeler at railway station here on Friday. Police said SK Khaleel (51) from Khanapur in the town sustained serious injuries when the tractor hit the auto-rickshaw which he was riding. He was immediately shifted to RIMS-Adilabad where doctors declared him dead.
Based on a complaint by Khaleel’s family members, a hit-and-run case was registered against the driver of the tractor. Investigation is on.
On Wednesday night, Dadi Akash (21) and his friend Allamkonda Kalyan (22) from the town were killed when an unidentified vehicle mowed down a two-wheeler in which they were travelling in Mavala mandal centre. While death was instant for Akash, Kalyan succumbed to injuries at the time of treatment.
They were returning to Adilabad from Ichoda at the time of the incident.

Siddipet police recover 100 lost smartphones
Siddipet: Siddipet police recovered 100 lost smartphones and handed them over to their owners. Based on the complaints registered on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, the police launched an inquiry and traced them at different places.
Returning the phones to the owners, Commissioners of Police, B Anuradha called upon them to educate their friends and relatives on the need of registering a complaint online or at their respective police stations without any delay. The Commissioner said that an early complaint will help the police to trace the phone easily.
After receiving the phones they had lost, several of them thanked the police. They said that they never expected to get their phone back after losing it. The Commissioner presented appreciation certificates to 26 constables who put efforts in tracing the phones.

Hyderabad man arrested for cheating woman in Adilabad
Adilabad: A man from Hyderabad was arrested for allegedly duping a woman of this town in the guise of offering a job with the Prohibition and Excise Department.
Adilabad I town police said that Vinay Kumar from Alkapuri Colony in Hyderabad was apprehended for cheating a woman by promising to provide a job with the Prohibition and Excise Department by giving a fake appointment order and ID card.
During investigation, Vinay confessed to committing the crime to make a fast buck. He admitted to collecting Rs 7 lakh from the woman for offering the job. Police urged the public not to fall prey for fraudsters.
