The healthcare industry of India is currently under a lot of scrutiny. While there have always been reports of false diagnoses done by hospitals to increase profit margins, a new video has brought a lot of fire to the topic in the realm of social media.
The original footage is credited to @ronitsaab_socialworker. The person in the video claims to be a doctor accusing the higher-ups of the hospital he works for as they push the doctors to stuff more patients into the ICUs and OPDs so that they can be billed without regard.

The man in the video continues that the hospital considers the patients to be nothing more than statistics and are constantly milking them for their money. Even the less fortunate ones are becoming victims of this healthcare mafia.
The doctor in the video exclaims how he feels dehumanized and questions his position as a doctor, which has been reduced to an employee of a corporation trying to fill his quota for the month while they are supervised monthly as to how many patients were diverted to the intensive care units.

The post also mentions a couple of cases where this mafia has been exposed, citing the example of Madhya Pradesh where a patient was declared comatose and was billed over one lakh, only for him to walk out on his own, and the case of a Gurgaon-based hospital where a 15-day stay in the ICU cost a patient 16 lakh.
The video has prompted valid public outrage while at the same time it is expected of the doctors to rise up against such behavior of private hospitals.
