Celebrate June 4 like Sankranti, Diwali, Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan urges people | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Responding to YSRCP’s call for statewide protests on June 4 (Wednesday), the day of the 2024 general election results, deputy chief minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan urged people to celebrate the day like Sankranti and Diwali, as it was on this day that people of Andhra Pradesh saw fresh rays of light and hope after five years of “political darkness” and were liberated from YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s “oppressive rule”. He urged party activists and citizens to decorate their homes, organise community competitions for women, and light lamps and burst crackers on Wednesday evening. “Let us mark the end of tyranny and the beginning of good governance by celebrating June 4 in a grand manner,” he said. Jana Sena also plans a digital campaign encouraging supporters to post visuals of the celebrations on social media.Earlier, terming June 4 as ‘Vennu Potu Dinam’ (Backstabbing Day) and a day of political treachery, Jagan accused chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of deceiving people with false promises and urged party workers to take the alleged failures of NDA govt to the people. TDP MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said Jagan hasn’t changed his attitude despite rejection from the people in the 2024 elections.
