Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime Unit on Wednesday arrested a teenager from Rajasthan for allegedly impersonating senior IAS and IPS officers and collected money by cheating people.
Police said the suspect Arbaz Khan (19) from Alwar in Rajasthan, created several fake accounts on Facebook in the name of senior IAS and IPS officers.
“Using these accounts with the display picture of the IAS and IPS officials, the suspect sent friend requests to people. Once accepted, he collected money from them on various pretexts. He is involved in two similar cases in Telangana,” Cybercrime officials said.
Based on a complaint from a senior bureaucrat, the Cybercrime police have booked a case and nabbed the suspect.
