Representatives of the Telangana Teaching Government Doctors Association (TTGDA) met with the Director of Medical Education (DME) A. Narendra Kumar on Tuesday to push for the resolution of several long-pending issues concerning government medical colleges in the State.
Among the key demands raised was a proposal for a ₹198 crore budget allocation aimed at strengthening infrastructure and resources in government medical colleges located in remote areas. The TTGDA also sought clarity on the recruitment of 773 teaching posts. The DME assured that the recruitment process would begin after the completion of ongoing promotions. The issue of implementing separate pay scales for DME doctors was also discussed, according to a release.
