BCCI To Set New Rules For Victory Celebrations?

One of the most unfortunate incidents associated with IPL cricket happened last evening at the RCB victory celebrations in Bengaluru. A stampede situation outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium resulted in the deaths of 11 people while many others are injured.

Shortly, after this incident, the BCCI was approached for a comment, and they conveniently steered away from the same. The BCCI stated that they have no role to play in this episode as this was completely a franchise level event.

“How can we be held responsible for an event that was called by a franchise in their city? However, BCCI is closely following the developments and is constantly in touch with RCB franchise. We are continuously assessing the situation and acquiring data.” The BCCI representative told national media.

It has further been confirmed that the BCCI will look to bringing in new rules for such celebratory events in the future in order to avoid any sort of public damage.

This is pretty much confirm that the BCCI might not necessarily permit such victory parades in the future. Rarely do we see such magnitude victory celebrations, and this just happened to happen in Bengaluru last evening, which ultimately resulted in several casualties.
