Thug Life, the highly anticipated film starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, and Trisha in the lead roles and directed by Mani Ratnam, has finally been released today and is receiving disastrous responses from audiences.
Many viewers, after watching Thug Life, stated that it is just a below-average revenge drama, and Mani Ratnam’s signature style was not even felt in a single scene in the movie.

However, following the disastrous responses to Thug Life, some netizens on social media started comparing it with Suriya’s recently released Retro, stating that Retro is a good movie compared to Thug Life.
Even in Retro, some portions worked for the audience, but Thug Life felt flat from start to end and was extremely unbearable, also many shared extreme disappointment, stating that they never expected such a poor movie from Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan.

Social media is now flooded with trolls and memes trashing Thug Life, and it seems like Thug Life is the biggest disappointment for the Kollywood audience in recent memory, especially since it came from the cult classic Nayagan combo.
Even though Thug Life opened its theatrical run with a decent opening, its pre-bookings are now dipping in many places due to poor responses. It remains to be seen how it will perform in the box office collections in the following days.
