Bajaj Auto plans to launch a new entry-level 125cc motorcycle in FY2026. This was revealed by Executive Director Rakesh Sharma during the company’s recent earnings call. Currently, Bajaj has four models in the 125cc segment. These include the Pulsar 125, Pulsar NS125, Pulsar N125, and the Freedom CNG bike. Bajaj’s 125cc range of bikes is priced between Rs 85,178 and Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom). It is said that the new entry-level bike could be positioned under the existing models. When asked whether Bajaj was planning to revive the CT125X, Sharma said that the branding would be decided when the product acquires its specs and its full form. Sharma also revealed that the 125cc segment is almost equal to the executive 100cc segment, which makes up 28% of the Indian motorcycle market. “And we can see two or three sub-segments emerging over here,” he said. “Freedom is, of course, an innovation, though it’s a 125cc, but it cuts across different cc classes and is the proposition for the long-distance rider who is very keen to save money because of long-distance riding. Now whether there is space for one more brand beside Pulsar will be based on careful analysis of how distinct these sub-segments are. This work is going on, and we will conclude this and reveal it to you closer to the time when we launch the product,” Sharma added. Source:Autocar India
