Min refutes Eatala claim on KLIS nod | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Countering former minister and MP Eatala Rajender, Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Saturday stated that no cabinet approval had been obtained during the previous BRS regime for the Kaleshwaram project.“The sub-committee that Eatala refers to was not constituted to examine the Kaleshwaram project proposal. Its mandate was limited to reviewing other existing projects and determining whether and how they should be continued,” said Tummala. Both Tummala and Eatala Rajender served as ministers during the previous BRS govt under chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. While Tummala later joined the Congress, Rajender moved to the BJP.However, during his testimony before the Kaleshwaram Commission on Friday, Rajender claimed that the project had been reviewed by the sub-committee, in which Tummala was also a member. “I do not understand what is motivating Rajender to make such statements. I wish I could grasp his agenda, but it is unbecoming of him to present something to the commission that is not factual,” said Tummala.
