Hyderabad: AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday expressed hope that his party’s candidates would find success in the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly elections.
Speaking at an Eid Milap event organised at the AIMIM headquarters here on Sunday evening, Owaisi said he believes the efforts of the party’s Bihar Unit Chief, Akhtarul Iman, would yield results.
He noted that the party has already announced its candidate for the Bahadurganj constituency in the state. Owaisi also addressed the party’s earlier success in Bihar, mentioning that four of the five AIMIM MLAs elected in the 2020 Assembly polls later switched to the RJD.
In another remark, Owaisi criticised organisations that “take the law into their own hands” ahead of Bakrid. He warned that such acts are detrimental to the rule of law and the Constitution.
“If someone has a complaint, they should take the legal route. If you act like a vigilante, remember that democracy will be weakened,” he said. Owaisi’s statement indirectly referred to certain groups that attempt to stop the alleged illegal transportation of cattle before Bakrid.
