Manny Machado is heating up with the summer sun. In a scoreless game on Sunday, the San Diego Padres third baseman broke through with a towering solo home run.

The blast extended Machado’s hitting streak to six games and marked his third homer in the last four. It gave the Padres a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh as they looked to take the rubber match of the three-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers.

MLB quickly shared the highlight, and fans on social media wasted no time reacting to the moonshot, the 352nd home run of Machado’s career.

Some of the quick reactions included:

This fan started it quite simply: “MVP.”

“What a hit.” from this fan.

“SMASHED IT.” was the reaction here.

“7 bombs in 16 → that’s a HR every other game pace. Manny swingin’ like it’s October already. That’s #WALA.” posted by this baseball fan.

Interesting response here:  “And he doesn’t need a $760 million dollar contract to do it.”

“Manny in MVP is scary sight.” said by this fan.

Machado’s Sunday blast was his 10th of the 2025 season. He hit No. 350 on Thursday night, then followed it with No. 351 on Friday, tying Dick Allen for a spot in the top 100 on the all-time home run list. His 352nd tied him with Ryan Braun, Ellis Burks and Freddie Freeman. Freeman, still active with the Los Angeles Dodgers, was playing in St. Louis on Sunday.

At 32 years old and now in his seventh season with San Diego, Machado continues to anchor the Padres’ offense. Last year, he appeared in 152 games, batting .275 with 29 home runs. He has hit at least 28 homers in six of his past seven full seasons.

Heading into Sunday’s game, Machado was batting .318. His hot streak is arriving at just the right time, as the Padres gear up for a critical home series against the first-place Dodgers, the first meeting between the two rivals in 2025.
