The entire process took about 30 minutes, with MBTech guiding me through the setup via TeamViewer. I was blown away by how seamless and professional the experience was-kudos to MBTech for making it so easy. It’s incredible to think that a guy halfway across the globe can transform your car’s dynamics with a few software tweaks! The flash applies steering and transmission CSL inspired maps, tweaking the Electric Power Steering (EPS) and the 8-speed ZF automatic to deliver a more focused, track-oriented driving experience. No hardware changes were needed, just a software update layered on top of my existing Areeve tuning box and LCI flash.CSL Steering (EPS):The difference in the steering is pretty noticeable. The CSL map adds more weight and road feedback, making the G87 feel like a true M car should. The steering now communicates the road surface and grip levels far better, with a heft that inspires confidence during spirited driving. It’s not overly heavy to the point of being tiring, but it’s direct and precise, something that fellow BHPian BMW owners pointed out on other threads being lacking. On today’s drive through some twisty roads, the car felt sportier and more connected. Every turn-in was razor-sharp, and the added feedback made it easier to place the car exactly where I wanted. It’s as if the M2 shed a layer of insulation and became more raw and engaging. This is how the G87 should have felt from the factory-it’s a cliche line I have been reading on bimmerpost with every mod they do but feels true to a good extentCSL Transmission Flash:The CSL transmission map is where things get spicy. The 8-speed ZF is now incredibly aggressive, with lightning-fast shifts that feel almost DCT-like in their intensity. Upshifts are accompanied by a noticeable jolt, and downshifts come with a satisfying blip of the throttle. It’s a far cry from the stock setup’s smoother, more refined behavior. For my driving style, this is a massive win. I mostly use the M2 for evening gym drives and weekend pulls, so the added quirk and drama suit the car perfectly. It feels like the transmission is egging me on to push harder, especially in Sport+ mode. However, I’ll admit this setup might not be for everyone. In stop-and-go traffic or daily commuting, the aggressive shifts could get tiring, as the car feels like it’s always on edge and in our Indian traffic conditions, it can also feel like driving on one gear for a longer amount of time, whereas the stock shifts much smoothly. Thankfully, I can toggle back to the stock map if needed, but for now, I’m loving the extra character and don’t think I’d like the car to be back to how it was. Overall Impressions it’s funny how much minor software changes can transform a car. The CSL Steering and Transmission Flash have elevated the G87 M2’s dynamics to a notch higher, making it feel more like a limited-edition M car than ever before. The steering now has the feedback and weight I’ve always wanted, and the transmission’s aggressive personality adds a layer of excitement that’s perfect for me personally.
