Apple today provided details on the availability and compatibility of its upcoming iPadOS 26, confirming that the significant software update will be delivered as a free software update to a wide range of iPad models this fall. This ensures that a vast number of iPad users will be able to experience the groundbreaking “Liquid Glass” design, advanced windowing system, and integrated Apple Intelligence features previously previewed.
Ipados 26 introduces a new Liquid Glass design interface, offering a more expressive and delightful user experience. A powerful new windowing system allows users to resize and organize app windows more intuitively, significantly enhancing multitasking. Apple Intelligence is integrated across iPadOS 26, providing advanced capabilities such as Live Translation and new creative tools. The Files app is enhanced with better organisation and customisation options, and new audio features offer more flexible input and streamlined recording.
