Hyderabad: After a break in rainfall that lasted over a week, Hyderabad and neighbouring districts should brace for more wet weather. The Hyderabad MET department on Monday morning issued a warning of widespread thunderstorms across all parts of Telangana for the next one week.

Thanks to a swift change in weather conditions, Hyderabad on Monday experienced overcast skies and a cool breeze. The cloudy conditions provided a welcome respite from the hot weather that had persisted throughout last week.

On Monday, IMD Hyderabad also forecast the possibility of light to moderate showers across several regions of the State, in addition to thundershowers. The forecast indicated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and moderate showers likely at isolated places in all districts.

Between June 9 and June 12, all zones of Hyderabad—including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally—are expected to remain cloudy and receive moderate rainfall.

“Generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (30–40 kmph) are very likely to occur,” the IMD forecast for Hyderabad said.
