Hyderabad: A woman was killed by her husband allegedly over an argument in their house at Bhagyanagar Colony in Saroornagar on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as M Amrutha (30), wife of Maria Dass (35), a private employee, both natives of Komanapalli in East Godavari of Andhra Pradesh. The couple was staying in Saroornagar for the past three years.
As per available information, the couple was having frequent fights over them suspecting each other’s fidelity. The fights increased ever since Amrutha was reportedly spending more time with the mobile phone over calls.
Maria Dass who went on work on Saturday, returned home on Tuesday and allegedly found Amrutha talking over the phone with an unknown person.
Angered over it, Maria Dass picked up an argument with Amrutha. He grabbed a scarf and strangled her to death. He left the body on the bed and informed her family members about the murder.
The Saroornagar police visited the spot and took up investigation. The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy. Maria Dass was taken into custody. The police were yet to announce his arrest.
