The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) condemned the attack on Sakshi media office at Eluru by miscreants on Tuesday.
YSRCP Kakinada district president and former Minister Kurasala Kannababu, party general secretary Gadikota Sreekanth Reddy and others condemned the attack. ‘‘The lawlessness of the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh has reached its peak. They are now shackling the freedom of the press, the fourth pillar of democracy. The pens that write the truth and the voices that speak reality are being ruthlessly suppressed. As part of this, under the pretext of someone’s comments, attacks are being launched against Sakshi.’‘
Mr. Srikanth said, “Setting fire to the Sakshi office in Eluru district is an especially heinous act. The YSR Congress Party strongly condemns these attacks, acts of arson, and such oppressive actions.”
Mr. Kanna Babu said, “These attacks and acts of arson are part of a conspiracy. We strongly condemn these actions and warn that the ruling dispensation must change its approach at least now.”
The YSRCP alleged that in an attempt to divert public attention from the government’s failures, the coalition government had ‘‘conspired to target Sakshi offices’‘ and as part of this, TDP leaders in Eluru district resorted to hooliganism.
