The Detroit Pistons will face the Dallas Mavericks in Mexico City on Nov. 1.
The regular-season contest — announced by the NBA on Tuesday, June 10, as the first known game on the Pistons’ 2025-26 schedule — will mark the Pistons’ third appearance in Mexico’s capital city. They previously lost to the Mavericks on Dec. 12, 2019, and defeated the then-Washington Bullets in a preseason match on Oct. 29, 1995.
It will be the Mavericks’ eighth appearance in Mexico City, and the NBA’s 34th game in Mexico.
“The Detroit Pistons organization is excited to be participating in The NBA Mexico City Game 2025 next season,” said Pistons president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon in a release. “Playing a regular-season game in Mexico City will be a great experience for our players and coaches, and we look forward to showcasing Detroit Basketball to an international audience and a passionate, growing NBA fanbase.”
The 2024-25 season was a historic one for the Pistons, who added 30 games to their win total following the worst season in franchise history to finish 44-38 and make the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Cade Cunningham earned third-team All-NBA honors, averaging 26.1 points, 9.1 assists and 6.1 rebounds.
