Kazipet: The swift and coordinated response by Government Railway Police (GRP) and railway officials helped reunite a stranded passenger with his group at Kazipet Junction on Wednesday.
According to officials, a group of over 35 people from Raipur was travelling to Goa on board Train No. 17322. Around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, when the train halted at Ghanpur station, one of the passengers, Krishna Patel, alighted to attend to nature’s call. However, before he could reboard, the train began moving, and Patel, disoriented by the darkness, was left behind.
Another passenger, Rupesh Kumar, quickly realised that Patel was missing and used the Railway Madad helpline (9575343252) to report the incident.
Acting on the alert, railway officials contacted the GRP in Ghanpur, who soon located Krishna Patel and safely brought him to Kazipet Railway Junction. Simultaneously, railway authorities on board the train coordinated with police personnel accompanying the train to trace Patel’s group. Two of his friends then travelled back to Kazipet to reunite with him.
The trio later resumed their journey to Goa on another train. The prompt and effective action by GRP personnel Upendar, Raghavendar, and railway lineman Sadanandam drew praise from fellow passengers.
