Brother-sister sentiment has often proved to be a successful formula at the box office, and Nithiin is now tapping into that emotion with his upcoming film “Thammudu.” Directed by Sreeram Venu, the film’s trailer was launched today, giving audiences a clear sense of its emotional and action-packed core.
Set in the fictional village of Ambaragoudu, the story revolves around a force that keeps its residents trapped, preventing them from stepping out. Saptami Gowda, known for her role in Kantara, plays a spirited young woman who encourages the villagers to break free from their fate.
Nithiin portrays a determined brother whose sister — played by Laya — had once promised to liberate the village but failed in her mission. He takes it upon himself to fulfill her vow and also rescue his niece. The trailer hints at a blend of strong emotion, social messaging, and massy action, with Nithiin in a refreshingly intense avatar.
Director Sreeram Venu, known for MCA and Vakeel Saab, appears to have crafted another high-voltage emotional drama. Music is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath of Kantara fame, adding to the film’s rooted aesthetic. Interestingly, while Laya’s character is central to the plot, her face is kept hidden in the trailer, building intrigue.
“Thammudu” is scheduled for release on July 4, 2025.
