Closer look at Hero Xoom 125: Scooter that feels bigger than it looks

Looks

Looks fresh, sporty, and beautiful. It shares design cues with the Xoom 110. The side profile is very pleasing, and the rear light setup on both sides enhances the sporty feel. It’s even more impressive in person than it appears in photos.

Feel

The scooter gives a big-bike feel with a decent cockpit view (similar to the Maestro Edge BS6 with LED headlight). The instrument cluster is well integrated into the design. The throttle is very smooth and light to operate. The exhaust note is neither too loud nor unnecessarily bass-heavy.

Ride

Throttle response is good, and it accelerates well even with a pillion. The 14-inch wheels and broad tyres provide good stability. The suspension is on the stiffer side. Brake bite could be better.

Features

The top variant (ZX) comes with turn-by-turn navigation, sequential LED indicators, petal disc brakes, illuminated start button, glove box, USB charging port, and a boot lamp.

Accessories

7– 8 color sticker packs (stripes), glove box, side stand kit (with and without sensor), seat cover, body protection kit, rim tape, floor mat, and rear ladies’ footrest.

Price

Xoom 125 ZX is priced at ₹92,900 (ex-showroom), and the VX variant at ₹86,900.

Conclusion

Hero MotoCorp truly deserves some real love. This is the best attempt from our desi brand in recent times to regain market share in the fastest-growing scooter segment.

The seat height of the Xoom 125, at 777 mm, might be a bit challenging for riders under 155–157 cm in height. In comparison, Ntorq (770 mm), Activa 125 (765 mm), Dio 125 (765 mm), Access (773 mm), Avenis (780 mm), and the new Hero Destini 125 (770 mm).
