Hyderabad: A 27-year-old junior artiste working in Tollywood has lodged a complaint with Jubilee Hills police, alleging that a 30-year-old gym trainer entered into a live-in relationship with her while concealing his marital status, and sexually exploited her multiple times since 2021 under the false promise of marriage. Following her complaint, Jubilee Hills police registered a case and arrested the accused on Saturday.According to the complainant, she had been living independently in the city since 2019 and met the accused at a gym in Gayathri Hills in 2020, shortly before the pandemic. They entered into a consensual live-in relationship in 2021 after the man allegedly assured her that he intended to marry her. During two separate periods of cohabitation — first in Gayathri Hills in 2021 for two months, and later in Manikonda between 2021 and 2022 for nine months — the complainant claimed the suspect sexually exploited her multiple times on the pretext of marriage.She later returned to her native place in Andhra Pradesh before moving back to Hyderabad in November 2023. Initially, she stayed in paying guest (PG) accommodation in Manikonda and subsequently moved to a rented house in Alkapuri Township at the beginning of 2025.She further alleged that in April this year, the accused asked her to arrange 15 lakh, citing their supposed wedding. Trusting him, she transferred 7 lakh via a digital wallet and handed over a further 7 lakh in cash. “He only returned 5 lakh and then started avoiding me. When I confronted him, he suddenly admitted he had already been married twice and stated clearly that he had no intention of marrying me,” the complainant said.Feeling deceived, she lodged a complaint with Jubilee Hills police on Thursday, and a case was registered under Section 69 (sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means, etc.) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). She was sent for a medical examination.Inspector K Venkateswar Reddy of Jubilee Hills police station has been assigned to investigate the case. “We arrested the accused on Saturday. He will be produced before the court for judicial remand,” the inspector said.
