Reality TV shows are one of the most loved and guilty pleasure genres for many. Be it Bigg Boss, Roadies, Splitsvilla, or now The Traitors, they all seem to find an eager audience.
Based on the popular Dutch reality show De Verraders, The Traitors is a psychological game. Here, 20 players are stationed at the grand Suryagarh Palace in Rajasthan, openly betraying each other to compete for a prize of ₹1 crore.

Hosted by Karan Johar, the recently released show features 20 participants and a simple yet twisted concept. Out of the 20 contestants, 3 are the “traitors,” whose mission is to secretly “kill” the others without being discovered.
Many on social media have said that the Indian version of the show feels like a hybrid of Bigg Boss and Roadies.

Others have praised it for its lavish sets, designer costumes, and a fresh, never-seen-before concept in India.
What fans didn’t appreciate, though, was how lengthy the episodes are. Stretching to an hour, sometimes even longer, many found it tedious to sit through the entire thing.

Even from a bird’s-eye view, while the show is engaging, viewers wish the episodes were a bit more compact and not so drawn out.
Some contestants, like Uorfi Javed and Apoorva Mukhija, have been appreciated for the drama they bring. Many even felt like Raj Kundra was simply there to clean up his image after the controversy.
While many have enjoyed it and are excited to see what the next episodes bring, others have written it off as a cringefest with no real substance. They argue it’s a brainless show with nothing to offer except petty drama.
But maybe that’s exactly what people need, something mindless and messy to get their minds off things and escape for a while.
Many are hoping that the upcoming episodes of The Traitors will get pulpier and more dramatic. Will it really? We’ll just have to wait and watch on Amazon Prime Video.
