I was debating on what kind of boots I need until I saw a couple of post accident videos.
BHPian icestrok recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
Went on a shopping spree to get all the gear I wanted. Been looking at stuff for months that first two criteria:
Yeah, I put comfort first because I really don’t want something uncomfortable while riding.
This is what I ended up with:
LS2 advant X carbon black helmet:
Really good helmet, expensive yes, but worth it to me personally because I can use it half face if I need some breathing space and full face for the rest of the ride. For any moto vloggers, you would find it very difficult to setup a chin mount in this, not a problem for me cuz helmet cams are banned here.
Price: 36k
Rev’it Airwave 4 Jacket:
So freaking comfortable, the mesh is amazing, you get a lot of airflow and makes the ride a lot more comfortable. Now I did get stuck in the rain for a bit and it obviously isn’t wp, but it wasn’t bad either. Might pick up a packable h2O jacket as well.
Price: 22k
Rev’it Airwave 4 pants:
Same as the jacket, super comfy. I’m short (a little over 5’7) , the knee guards are a bit shorter than my knees but it’s fairly adjustable. One thing though, the pants have a heavier feel to it than the jacket, but it’s not overly heavy by any means, just “heavier”.
Price: 19.2k
TCX STR-1 boots:
I was debating on what kind of boots I need until I saw a couple of post accident videos. Yeah, after your helmet this is probably the most important purchase. This is a full boot, comes upto your calves, enough flex to shift but apart from that it’s rock solid. Need some thick socks though (I’ll gladly take recommendations, using some decathlon football socks now and they stick to the Velcro every damn time). Excellent quality, certified (CE – Cat. II – EN 13634). I’m gonna hope the torsion control system works well.
Price : 32k
Rev’it Mosca 2 gloves:
I’ll be clear that this is not my first option. My plan is to use these till end of July for all my rides and then keep this for short rides (coffee runs nearby) and get the klim induction gloves when they are back in stock in BBB. These are excellent street gloves from a comfort pov but protection wise they are minimal.
Price : 5.4 k.
That’s all the gear purchase. I also bought something which isn’t exactly necessary but improves qol personally for me. That is the Cardo packtalk pro. Super expensive at 46k but have 3 years warranty, once again backed by BBB (got it at 43k from them). Excellent sound quality, much better mic quality and overall situation as compared to Sena 60s which has major mic issues currently.
Safe riding folks.!
