Vijayawada: Grand preparations are underway at the Kanaka Durga temple on Indrakeeladri for the auspicious Ashada Masam Utsavams, beginning from June 26 to July 24. The temple is gearing up for a surge in number og devotees during the occasion. Multiple festivities have been lined up in honour of Goddess Kanaka Durga.As part of the tradition, around 15,000 groups of women devotees are expected to offer silk sarees to the Goddess during the Ashada Saree Samarpana. This ritual offering is considered highly sacred and symbolises devotion and reverence towards the deity. Temple executive officer (EO) VK Seenanayak held a review meeting with vedic scholars. He instructed that all arrangements should be made to conduct the festivities in a smooth and spiritual manner, without causing inconvenience to pilgrims, especially due to the ongoing development works at the temple premises.Apart from the Saree Samarpana, the Varahi Navratri (Gupta Navratri) will be observed from June 26 to July 4, followed by the Shakambari Devi Utsavams from July 8 to 10.
