After missing three weeks and five games with a left quad strain, Caitlin Clark didn’t disappoint in her return for the Indiana Fever.
On Saturday, Clark and the Fever took down Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty 102-88, ending the Liberty’s 9-0 start to the 2025 WNBA season.
Clark came out with a bang, scoring 25 of her 32 points in the first half and hitting seven 3-pointers overall. She also posted eight rebounds and nine assists.
In attendance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse was Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery. The two met during their time at the University of Iowa. Now, McCaffery works as an assistant coach for the Butler Bulldogs men’s basketball team.
After the win, Clark and McCaffery were photographed embracing courtside. The couple greeted each other with smiles and a warm hug.

In their five games without Clark, the Fever finished with a 2-3 record, dropping them to 4-5 on the season. But Clark and Cunningham were both able to return and lead Indiana to its biggest win of the season yet, knocking off the defending champions.
Up next for the Fever, another game in Indianapolis against coach Stephanie White’s former team, the Connecticut Sun, on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
