Currently USA ad load is 2 to 6 minutes Hourly in 4 to 6 Ad-Breaks, an Ad Free subscription costs an “additional” ₹699/year or ₹129/month over and above ₹1499 & ₹299 respectively. Which is already very pricy.
However, many users on social media are not happy with the announcement. Some say it’s unfair to charge more for an ad-free experience on a paid subscription.

Many expressed anger saying they already pay for Prime and shouldn’t have to pay more to avoid ads. Some even joked that this move would encourage people to switch to piracy.
Hashtags like #BoycottPrime and memes criticizing the decision have been widely shared online.
When prime is already charging for rented movies this add on, is making the ott gaint look like a tv channel, if prime keeps on switching plans like this, then day is not far where the audience will loose their faith over them, and it’ll just be another tv channel model.
In short, Amazon Prime Video will remain part of the regular Prime subscription, but ad-free streaming will now cost extra.
This new model is a big shift for users in India, who are used to watching without interruptions.
