Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana and his wife, P. Rama Devi prayed at the Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy temple in Nellore on Sunday. The couple were accorded a traditional welcome by the temple officials, and the priests received them with the ‘Poornakumbham’.

After praying at the temple, the Minister recalled the requests made by the locals during his tenure as Minister from 2014 to 2019 to develop the Penna Ghat near the temple, so that devotees could take a dip in the holy Penna river before visiting the temple.

“We have discussed with the officials on improving the ghat. Our government is committed to developing facilities in temples. The previous government dropped several projects under the guise of reverse tendering, but we will pick up the thread and continue developing this ghat,” he said.
