Kia India has followed a bold and experimental product strategy since its market debut in 2019. Staying true to its core values, the South Korean automaker recently announced its future roadmap with a major focus on electrified vehicles. KIA KEY EV
The KIA KEY EV is set to hit showrooms in July, 2025. Except a few EV-specific changes, the entire design and interior of the electric Carens are expected to remain similar to its ICE counterpart. It’s likely to share its powertrain with the Hyundai Creta EV, which is available with a 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs. The smaller battery offers a claimed MIDC range of 390km, while the larger battery pack promises 473km on a full charge.
New-Gen Kia Seltos

The second-generation Kia Seltos is currently undergoing testing, and is expected to arrive in the first half of 2026. The SUV is likely to receive comprehensive changes inside and out. Reports suggest that the all-new Seltos could get a petrol-hybrid powertrain, featuring a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol with a strong hybrid tech. The existing 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and 116bhp, 1.5L diesel engines are also expected to continue.

The electric version of the Syros is expected to hit roads in the first quarter of 2026. It will compete with the Mahindra XUV400 EV and Tata Nexon EV. While official details of the Kia Syros EV are still under the wraps, it’s likely to share platform with the Hyundai Inster EV and could be offered with two battery pack options. Prices of the electric Syros are expected to start around Rs 15 lakh and go up to Rs 20 lakh.
Whenever MQ4i
The upcoming MQ4i (codename) will be among the first hybrid vehicles from the South Korean automaker in India. It will be a three-row SUV to challenge the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. Measuring around 4.8 metres in length, the new Kia 7-seater SUV will be manufactured at the brand’s Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh. It will be based on the globally sold Kia Sorento and is likely to feature a 1.5L petrol-hybrid powertrain.
