Norton Motorcycles has filed a trademark application for the ‘Electra’ name in India. It could be one of the new models planned for the Indian market. Norton is looking to compete with brands like Royal Enfield in the Indian market. The brand is said to be developing two new platforms with engine capacities ranging from 350cc to 650cc. Whether the Electra model name will be used for one of these models remains to be seen. It might also hint at a future electric bike, although this is pure speculation, as there has been no indication of an electric model that is being developed. There was a time when Royal Enfield had a model called Bullet Electra in its lineup, which is no longer on sale today.
