Telangana launches drone-based land survey in five villages as pilot project; ahead of statewide rollout

HYDERABAD: As a pilot, the revenue department has begun comprehensive surveys in five villages-Salarnagar (Mahbubnagar), Kommanapalli (Jagtial), Mulugumadu (Khammam), Nuguru(G) in Mulugu, and Shahednagar in Sangareddy district.Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas said: “Drone-based aerial surveys combined with ground-truth verification will provide accurate cadastral maps and assign official survey numbers.” Five professional agencies are using high-resolution drones, GIS technology, and on-ground data collection to complete pilot within a few months.
