HYDERABAD: In separate incidents, three students died by suicide, allegedly after failing to clear intermediate supplementary examinations.In the first incident, R Venkataramana (19), an intermediate second-year student and a native of Mahabbatpur in Sangareddy, hanged himself from the ceiling fan at his house after he failed to clear one subject.In another incident, G Harika (16), an intermediate first-year student from Das Thanda in Katkoor village in Siddipet district, died by suicide by hanging herself, after she failed in one subject. In the third case, Akshaya (17), a second-year intermediate student from Naspur in Mancherial district, resorted to the drastic step after she failed to clear Mathematics subject. Based on a complaint lodged by the family members of the students, police officials registered three separate cases under section 194 (suspicious death) of BNS on Monday. None of the family members raised any suspicion over the deaths. Bodies were handed over to the family members after the autopsy.
