Juggling govt job and pursuing higher studies | Vijayawada News


Vijayawada: Hectic work schedules and official duties have never become a hurdle to pursue higher studies to a senior official in the secretariat, Kasireddy Varaprasad. Notwithstanding the massive assignments being handled as an officer on special duty (OSD) to HRD and IT minister Nara Lokesh, Dr Varaprasad cracked PG Lawcet with flying colours as he secured 147th rank in the examination results that were released on Thursday. He has been the backbone of key subjects in HRD and IT minister Lokesh’s office for the past one year.Varaprasad already holds a doctorate in economics. He completed a PhD in financing urban infrastructure, practices, problems and innovative strategies. Varaprasad completed his graduation in Law from Siddartha law college of Krishna university. He holds four postgraduate degrees which include three MAs with economics, political science and tourism management and MCom. The officer on special duty to IT minister Lokesh had also completed MBA with finance and public enterprise. However, Varaprasad’s passion for pursuing new courses and education did not end as he decided to complete postgraduation in Law. “I would like to pursue LLM in corporate and securities law,” Varaprasad told TOI. Curiously, Varaprasad is also pursuing charted management accounting (CMA) from ICWA, Kolkata. A section officer in finance department, Varaprasad moved to IT and HRD minister Lokesh’s office as OSD after chief minister Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA returned to power last year. He served as executive assistant to CM Naidu, assistant section officer and PS to special chief secretary to the chief minister during his previous stint in the state.Varaprasad is serving as an honorary advisor in the budgetary and planning division for the International Conference Bio-Asia (Federation of Asian Biotech Association). Following the publication of the results, Nara Lokesh congratulated his OSD on his achievement.
