Maruti Fronx Hybrid

Maruti Suzuki will take a big technical leap with the introduction of its own strong hybrid powertrain with the Fronx compact crossover in 2026. The carmaker will use a simpler and more cost-effective series hybrid system instead parallel or series-parallel technologies. The Maruti Fronx hybrid will come with a 1.2L, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine, paired with a compact battery and an electric motor. According to media reports, the Fronx hybrid is likely to return a fuel efficiency of +35kmpl.
Mahindra XUV3XO Hybrid
Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to enter in growing hybrid SUV segment next year. The Mahindra XUV3XO is likely to be the brand’s first model to feature a strong hybrid powertrain. The SUV is likely to feature a 1.2L, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a new hybrid tech. The overall design and interior of the Mahindra XUV3XO hybrid will be similar to its ICE counterpart, expect for ‘Hybrid’ badging and a few cosmetic changes.
New-Gen Kia Seltos
The second-generation Kia Seltos will come with significantly improved design and upgraded interior along with a hybrid powertrain. Official specifications of the SUV are yet to be revealed. In global markets, Kia offers a 1.6L petrol-hybrid powertrain with its several offerings. The all-new Seltos will also be available with the existing 1.5L MPi petrol, 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options in India.
New-Gen Renault Duster
The next-generation Renault Duster is one of the much-awaited upcoming hybrid SUVs in India. The carmaker is likely to use a 94bhp, 1.6L petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.2kWh battery pack. The lower variants might get Kiger’s 1.0L HR10 turbo petrol, and a 1.3L turbo petrol engine might also be on offer. Renault is also considering a CNG fuel option for the Duster.
