Hanamkonda: High tension prevailed at the district court complex located at Adalat Centre here on Friday as an unidentified person called the Dial 100 emergency number, claiming to have planted a bomb in the court premises.
Police, who were alerted in view of the bomb threat, carried out thorough checks in the court premises with the help of the bomb squad and dog squad. Petitioners, lawyers and the judicial officers were evacuated from the court premises and as a result the court work was disrupted for some time.
After the inspection was over, police spotted six detonators in the court premises. The police were investigating where the phone call came from and who made it, Subedari Inspector of Police Ranjith said.
It is worth noting that it was the second bomb threat the court received in recent times.
On April 4, 2025 the court received a bomb threat through an email which was sent to the judge’s office warning that a bomb was planted in the court complex and would explode at any time.
After police teams, bomb disposal unit and a sniffer dog squad conducted a search at the court premises, the bomb threat was found to be a hoax.
