Hyderabad: Two arrested for chain-snatching on trains, gold worth Rs 2.9 lakh recovered

Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police (GRP), Secunderabad, in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), arrested two men from Uttar Pradesh on Friday in connection with four chain-snatching cases.

Gold ornaments worth Rs 2.9 lakh were recovered from them.


The arrested individuals were identified as Abhay Raj Singh and Mithilesh Giri, both from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.

They were previously involved in four similar offences.

According to the police, the suspects turned to crime due to their meagre income.

They specifically targeted rail passengers and snatched gold ornaments.

The GRP arrested the duo and seized the stolen property.
