My RE Interceptor Start-up Issue Persists Despite Battery Replacements

As of 3rd service, I am now on the 3rd battery for my Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

BHPian parrys recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

So, took the bike for its annual service. 3rd service as per records.

I am happy to announce, that as of 3rd service, I am now on the 3rd battery for my ‘Royal’ Enfield Interceptor 650.

There! Marinating in all it’s ROYAL glory, refusing to start.
Prior to this, I had push started it from a decline patch, twice!
No luck with the battery charging enough to start later.

Service Experience

Booked the service appointment via RE app. Reached before time.
Long wait before the shutters open.
Everybody who has booked an appointment swamps at the entrance.
Then, you are ROYALLY asked who came first! As if we respect & adhere to FIFO.

  • Completed the general service.
  • I had to take it to RE, because I have purchased the max warranty & AMC options. Even though it is not helping my case at all.
  • Everything else was as usual, no unusual wear & tear.
  • Then comes the battery. Which was way below the desired measure. This was after me push starting the bike & riding it to the service centre which is roughly 4 kms from home.
  • I was told, to either get a new battery from the service centre. (DO NOTE: I did not get my battery under warranty the first time this issue occured. I had purchased it from a dealer outside, for faster resolution.)
  • Or, jump start the bike after service, and visit the battery dealer, and then get it inspected and replaced in warranty from him. So again go through the wiring mess & waste time there. (Which I refused. Because no time and no patience.)
  • I asked for a new battery from the service centre, which they happily added to cart. Also, this time, they told me to leave the aux disconnected to check if this could be the root cause.
  • So I now carry the aux fuse in my wallet. Because I need the aux when riding at night, thanks to RE’s brilliant LED headlight.
  • Going for a bike ride this weekend, and then going to leave it parked for 5-6 days, to check if things are fine. If yes, then will put in the aux fuse again, and repeat the process.

After the service.
Love is blind!
I ride it, I love it.
The problem is, it does not start as much as I would like.

If anyone could help this relationship from ending in the future, please share your valuable advice.
