The St. Louis Cardinals continue to prove doubters wrong in their pursuit of staying relevant in the National League playoff picture.

Currently sitting in third place in the NL Central, the Cardinals have been able to turn things around since going through a six-game losing streak earlier in June.

While St. Louis tries to complete a series sweep against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday, one of the league’s best third basemen and a future Hall of Famer, Nolan Arenado, achieved a huge career milestone.

In the top of the third inning, Arenado went up to the plate after Cardinals teammate Alec Burleson had hit a home run in the plate appearance before.

With a 1-1 count against White Sox pitcher Mike Vasil, Arenado hit a 385-foot home run on a pitch that was just outside of the box.

It would tally Arenado’s home run count to nine on the season and his 350th of his career.

350 home runs is something that has been seen by only five other active players in the MLB, joining Giancarlo Stanton, Mike Trout, Paul Goldschmidt, Manny Machado and Freddie Freeman, according to the MLB’s Casey Drottar.

Since making his debut in 2013, Nolan Arenado has not only been one of the best defensive third baseman in all of baseball (10-time Gold Glove award winner and six-time Platinum Glove award winner), he’s also been one of the best bats in the league, winning five Silver Slugger awards as well as becoming an All-Star in eight seasons with the Colorado Rockies and the St. Louis Cardinals.

In his 13th season in the league, the 34-year-old has continued to stay consistent at the plate throughout his career.
