Hyderabad’s Ganapathi tops Telangana EdCET 2025

Hyderabad’s Ganapathi tops Telangana EdCET 2025


Hyderabad: A Hyderabadi walked away with the top rank in the Telangana Education Common Entrance Test (TG EdCET) 2025 results declared here on Saturday. With normalised marks of 126.839991, Vajjha Ganapathi Sasthry of Gowlipura in Hyderabad bagged first rank.

The second and third ranks were secured by two men, Garrepelly Sharath Chandra of Secunderabad and Kaudagani Nagaraju of Warangal, respectively.


It was interesting to note that a total of 26,304 women took the entrance test, which was approximately 4.5 times higher than the men (5,801). However, men bagged seven ranks in the top 10.

In the results declared by the TGCHE Chairman, Prof V Balakista Reddy and TG EdCET 2025 Chairman and Kakatiya University Vice Chancellor Prof K Pratap Reddy, 96.38 percent out of 32,106 candidates who took the entrance test for admissions to two-year BEd programme were declared qualified.

According to Prof Balakista Reddy, a total of 208 colleges, including 201 private and seven government colleges, offered 18,550 seats in BEd programmes during the academic year 2024-25. Of the total seats, 14,420 were filled during the last year. “Admission counselling is linked to degree semester examinations. The TG EdCET 2025 counselling is expected to commence in the month of August,” he added.
