Tried the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) setup in my Mahindra XEV 9e today. The process went smoothly, and I am happy to report that the implementation is very good.
The stream is of very high quality with no pixelation or grainy effect. The BYOD screens work both ways and they are not just display. User can touch and navigate using the BYOD screens.
The BYOD setup allows rear seat passengers to control the climate of the vehicle.
The BYOD setup also allows streaming of all apps available under the “Fun and Work” section. This is super useful stuff.
There is no lag in the video and audio sync for a particular screen and also there is no lag between multiple screens running the same stream.
When the feature was being marketed, I was concerned that the rear passenger screens might be a little off sync in terms of audio, but the BYOD setup is working flawlessly. This is a very good implementation.
The BYOD setup works with any Android / iOS device which supports the Me4U app.
