Mahindra & Mahindra has cracked the code in the EV segment with its new INGLO modular lightweight skateboard platform-based electric SUVs – the BE 6 and the XEV 9e. Owing to their high demand, the Indian automaker recorded its highest-ever monthly production (3,692 units) and wholesales (4,021 units) in May 2025. The cumulative production and sales of these EVs crossed the 15,000 units mark within five months of their arrival.

Aiming to further expand its EV product portfolio, Mahindra is set to introduce a new 7-seater born electric SUV in late 2025. Its production version is likely to be called ‘Mahindra XEV 7e’, which will essentially be the three-row version of the XEV 9e coupe SUV. The official details and specifications of the Mahindra XEV 9e 7-seater SUV are yet to be revealed. However, the EV is expected to share several design elements, features, components, and powertrain with its 5-seater sibling.

Expected Range:
As a 7-seater version of the XEV 9e, the upcoming Mahindra XEV 7e is likely to come with the 59kWh and 79kWh LFP (lithium-iron phosphate) batteries, paired with 286bhp and 231bhp electric motors, respectively. On the MIDC cycle, the smaller battery delivers a claimed range of 542km and the larger battery version promises 656km on a full charge. However, the range of the Mahindra XEV 9e 7-seater could be slightly different compared to its 5-seater sibling.
Expected Features:
The cabin of the Mahindra XEV 7e will closely resemble that of the XEV 9e. It will come with a triple screen setup (each measuring 12.3-inch) and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. Captain’s chairs are expected for the second-row, while the conventional roofline will ensure ample headroom. Key expected features include
- Panoramic sunroof

- Dual zone climate control system
- Auto dimming interior IRVM
- Front ventilated seats
- Wireless smartphone charger for each row of seat
- Interior ambient lighting and carpet lamps

Expected Price:
The Mahindra XEV 9e 7-seater SUV is expected to carry a premium of around Rs 2 lakh – Rs 2.50 lakh over its 5-seater sibling, which is currently available in the price range of Rs 21.90 lakh – Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
