The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and spiritual fervor along the serene coastline of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. This year’s global theme, “One Earth, One Health”, resonated deeply with the message of unity, wellness, and harmony. PM Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh all played prominent roles in promoting the importance of yoga as a lifestyle and a global movement.

Modi’s Message: Yoga as a Global Connector

Prime Minister Modi addressed the nation, emphasizing how yoga has become a global phenomenon, embraced by 175 countries and practiced across 12 lakh locations worldwide. He said, “Yoga unites the world. It transcends borders, age, and cultures. It is a symbol of discipline and consciousness. Even in space, yoga has found its place.”

He lauded the efforts of Delhi AIIMS in developing yoga-based therapeutic treatments and revealed that an ecosystem is being developed to make yoga more accessible to the public. “Yoga has redefined global health and balanced living. In my ‘Mann Ki Baat’, I’ve spoken extensively on this,” Modi added, also advising citizens to reduce oil intake by 10% in daily meals and adopt a more balanced lifestyle.
A Proud Moment for Andhra Pradesh

The beachside celebrations in Visakhapatnam stood out as one of the most iconic Yoga Day events in the country. Prime Minister Modi congratulated the Andhra Pradesh government for its grand execution. “Yoga Andhra is a remarkable initiative. I appreciate CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Lokesh for their commitment. This event has become a beacon of public participation,” he noted.

Chief Minister Naidu shared his pride in hosting the event at the coast of Visakhapatnam, calling it a “meeting point of nature and progress.” He stated that 2.17 crore people had enrolled for yoga, and tribal students had set records with mass Surya Namaskars. He also announced the launch of the Yoga League from September, aimed at further integrating yoga into everyday life.

Pawan Kalyan Hails Modi’s Vision

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan praised PM Modi as a visionary who globalized yoga. “Yoga is a proud Indian legacy. Modi Ji made the world recognize it. The ‘One Earth, One Health’ slogan must become our national ethos,” he said.

A Unifying Spiritual Force

The Visakhapatnam event, attended by thousands, stood as a testimony to yoga’s unifying power beyond caste, religion, and nationality. The rhythmic practice of asanas along the seashore symbolized India’s ancient spiritual wisdom reaching out to the modern world.

The 11th International Yoga Day was not just a celebration—it was a movement. One that reminded the world that peace begins within, and that wellness is not just a goal, but a way of life.
