Vijayawada: The cabinet sub-committee on land allocations in the capital city Amaravati approved the proposal for the allotment of two acres of land to the BJP for construction of state party office. The sub-committee, which met on Monday, approved six new proposals and amendments to four existing proposals. The sub-committee cancelled the allotments made earlier to two institutions and deferred decisions on four proposals.The sub-committee approved changes to the allocations for some of the organisations that were allotted land between 2014 and 2019. P Narayana, minister for municipal administration and urban development (MAUD), stated that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was allotted two acres, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) was allotted two acres, the state forensic science laboratory (SFSL) was allotted five acres, and the Andhra Pradesh Cooperative Bank Limited was allotted three acres, revising the allocations made earlier. Additionally, the cabinet sub-committee decided to cancel the allocations for GAIL India Private Limited and Ambika Agarbatti.Among the six new allocations made, two acres were allocated to the income tax department, two acres to AP Grameena Bank, 0.4 acres to the Central Bank of India, 0.5 acres to the intelligence bureau (SIB), 0.5 acres to the bureau of immigration, and two acres for the BJP office.The minister further said that the organisations that received land allocations will begin construction as soon as possible. He added that the progress of works will be tracked closely, and the institutions must adhere to the conditions of the allotment.
