BHPian Omkar recently shared this with other enthusiasts:About The Vitara BrezzaThe Vitara Brezza was Maruti’s first car to be conceived, designed and developed in India. It’s been a huge success and will complete 10 years in 2026. You may not have seen it much in the news, but it has been racking up sales in cities and towns across all tiers. It’s just a no-nonsense car that ticks all the right boxes. While the first generation car was called the Vitara Brezza, in the second generation, which was introduced in 2022, the ‘Vitara’ bit was dropped. But a bigger change was that the Brezza no longer had a diesel engine. All you got was the K15C DualJet petrol engine with Smart Hybrid system mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Has the absence of a diesel engine affected the sales? Hell no! The sub-4m SUV from Maruti still manages to reserve a spot for itself in the top 10 cars by sales in volume every month. That’s the kind of trust that the Brezza has built over the years. It’s not that cheap as well and is priced on the higher side. In the used car market, the Brezza holds its value. It has a host of features including a sunroof. Fun fact: the 2022 Brezza was Maruti’s first car to get a sunroof. Coming to the topic at hand, there are a bunch of positives about the Maruti Brezza, which are associated with a bunch of cons as well. But it has been in the market for about 3 years now and that makes for a perfect time to explore the options in the used car market. So, if you were to buy a sub-4m SUV, would you consider the second-generation Brezza?Used Maruti Brezza Pros Not very old and still very relevant in the market. No diesel on offer 1.5L petrol engine lacks outright grunt. Tuned for fuel-efficiency and suitable for relaxed cruising only Expensive! Marutis hold their value in the used car market AT option commands a stiff Rs. 1.5 lakh ex-showroom premium! Interior quality and fit & finish are underwhelming for the price. The game has moved on Short gearing of the 5-speed MT and lack of 6th cog results in an unusually busy engine at 100-120 km/h 328-litre boot is among the smallest in the segment Some missing features like ventilated seats, leather upholstery, TPMS, drive modes, auto wipers and front parking sensorsRelated Threads 2022 Maruti Brezza Review sunbaj’s 2022 Brezza ZXi MT Autobot92’s Brezza VXI MTThings to watch out for in a used Maruti Brezza Airbag module replacement service recallMod PotentialModification or tuning is not the first thing you think of when you see a Brezza. In fact, it’s probably the last thing. Apart from some cosmetic updates, you won’t really find a lot of Brezzas being modified. Some tuners offer a stage 1 tune, but nothing serious. In all fairness, the car is focused on comfort and efficiency, so trying to get performance out of it isn’t the right approach.Image sourceAvailabilityPeople tend to keep their cars if they’re happy with it. This is probably one of the reasons why you will not find a lot of 2nd gen Brezzas in the used car market. You will find plenty of the previous generation Vitara Brezzas on sale in the used car market. Check out some examples here. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
