Director SS Rajamouli, known for taking Telugu cinema to the global stage, has now found his way into the world of gaming. He and his son SS Karthikeya have made a small appearance in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, an upcoming video game by popular Japanese creator Hideo Kojima.
This development comes after their recent virtual meet-up, where Kojima and Karthikeya hinted at some form of collaboration. Adding to that, Rajamouli had earlier met Kojima during the RRR Japan promotions in 2022. During that visit, Rajamouli even experienced a special 360⁰ full screening at Kojima’s studio, where he got to see their latest work from all angles in an immersive setup.
Now, as early access for Death Stranding 2 has begun, some players spotted characters called “The Adventurer” and “Adventurer’s Son,” which appear to be modeled on Rajamouli and Karthikeya. Though it’s a small cameo, the news has caught the attention of gaming fans and Telugu audiences alike.

Kojima is known for making games with cinematic visuals and storytelling, and Death Stranding 2 is no exception. The game features Hollywood actors like Norman Reedus, Elle Fanning, and Léa Seydoux, and is set for global release on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
This is not a full-fledged role but more of a fun cameo, showing how Rajamouli’s global popularity continues to open new doors, even beyond films.
