Tata Harrier EV 5-Star Safety Rating In BNCAP

The newly-launched Tata Harrier EV was recently subjected to the Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests, where it secured a full 5-star safety rating. The electric SUV scored full points (32 out of 32) for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection.

The top-end Empowered 75 and Empowered 75 AWD variants were tested by the safety authority. These variants come equipped with 7 airbags, electronic stability control, seat belt reminder, belt pretensioner and belt load-limiter.

In the front offset deformable barrier test, the Tata Harrier EV secured 16 out of 16 points. It provided good protection for both the front passengers and for the driver’s chest and left tibia. In the side movable deformable barrier test, the EV offered good protection for the head, stomach and the pelvic region. However, it received an ‘adequate’ rating in the side impact pole test.

The Dynamic and Child Restraint System (CRS) installation scores of the Tata Harrier EV stood at 24 out of 2 and 12 out of 12 points, respectively. For the vehicle assessment, BNCAP used dummies of 18-month-old and 3-year-old children. The EV managed to earn 9 points out a maximum 13.

Tata Harrier EV Prices

Bookings for the Harrier EV are slated to begin on 2nd July, 2025. The model lineup includes five RWD variants – Adventure 65, Adventure S 65, Fearless+ 65, Fearless+ 75 and Empowered 75 – priced at Rs 21.49 lakh, Rs 21.99 lakh, Rs 23.99 lakh, Rs 24.99 lakh and Rs 27.49 lakh, respectively. The mentioned prices are ex-showroom, and do not include the cost of an AC fast charger and installation charges. Prices of the Harrier EV AWD Empowered variants are yet to be announced.
